Leeds Bins Feedback

Thank you for trying our Leeds Bins trial app.

Using open data from Leeds Data Mill we can help you set reminders to put your bin out. We also provide direct links to Leeds City Council's website to help you solve common problems.

This project has been delivered on a tight budget. We can't do traditional internal testing but still want to deliver a stable and useful product.

Please let us know what you think below. This will help us fix any problems and decide whether to continue with our trial.

I still can't find a bottle bank near me. An address or other verbal indication of where the green bubbles are would help.

Just tap on the bubble and it gives the site

We have one in gildersome it is at the bottom of reedsdale gardens same with clothes

Sadly a recent iOS update has caused us significant problems. We are working on a fix and will have it with you just as soon as Apple approve it. If you're on Android, then please let me know and we'll investigate that problem too,

Really like this app. Easy to use on phone and tablet. Easy to update calendar and reminders are invaluable. Have recommended it to all my friends (you know you are getting old when the app you talk to friends about is the Leeds Bins app!). Please please please don't ever retire it.

Like the app, good idea. But you need to hide the address from the top once it is set up. I don't want someone stealing my phone while I'm out and going straight to my empty house!

Yup. Surely you’ll be more bothered about them finding out all of your bank details and personal history of everything than going to a house that’s empty.

There’s a lot of empty houses in the uk daily. If you’re worried about someone KNOWING you’re out, you’re worried about the wrong thing :)

Save to calendar seems to be failing following the recent ios update

This app is great until I got my garden bin notification this morning at 8 am instead of last night 8pm. Fortunately my bin was out!

like it very much,please don't stop the service, it's extremely helpful especially when one keeps forgetting.

Just found out about this app from Twitter and downloaded it straight away. It's really easy to use and love the 'add dates to calendar' option which has worked - sorry but i was sceptical about that! All bins are there also so i'm all set!

this application does not allow you to report a Bin As missed. You are taken to either a page 303 or 404 error message meaning that the section of the website that is designated to reporting bins does not exist. Please could you build a system to report bins when they are not collected

Its ok giving collection dates but inaccurate at times

Why are we given collection dates when bin men don't turn up

Exactly, not had green bin collection for 3 months now and still waiting and it said black bin collection 3rd January but looked on my cctv and they came 2nd January

So apps not accurate at all

Wanted to report a missed bin but all I get is page not found!

The report a missed bin collection link is not working.

The app is useful. It would be good if there was a link to connect with LCC to raise a complaint or query. For example a missed bin where the reason for missing a collection is disputed.

The link to request a bin says page not found as with the request a recycling site tip permit.

The app isn’t saving to iCal, it just keeps spinning. It’s been doing this for a few weeks now.

I can’t add the dates to my calendar anymore. The dropdown ‘pick a calendar to save to’ is blank and won’t let me add mine

Hi- as others have previously mentioned, still unable to save dates to my calendar. Just hangs on the ‘saving dates’ stage- see pic. Means I got no reminder of the brown bin pick up this morning. I’ve and iPhone 13 Pro. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, still won’t work. My permissions are set to allow the app the update my calendar. Please can you look in to it? Thanks

Hi, the Leeds bin app has stopped adding dates to my calendar. When I go to choose the calendar to save the dates to, it shows “no options” even though my permissions are set to allow the app to add dates only to my calendar. Thanks Adrian

Why aren’t my dates uploading to my iPhone anymore? I just the get cog that whirrs around. I’ve deleted and reloaded the app too? It’s been like this for ages now.

I am receiving anything up to 15/20 ‘bin updates’ and ‘new dates added’ per week but they seem to be repeated reminders 🙈🙈

Hi Joel,

I'm really sorry about this. Recently Apple updated the software for their iPhones and sadly the update contained a bug. We have now published a fix for this problem. My best recommendation is to uninstall the Leeds Bins App and install it again. This should reset everything,

I live on Bodmin Rd LS10 4PR the days for brown bin collection have now changed to a Friday . The app has not been updated and everyone not aware of day change. Please update the app. When it's working its a really useful, but needs updating when changes are made

Works really well, thanks for doing this.

Great app, works well except when you get an extra collection that isn't scheduled. Then you are thrown into confusion and have to spend time ringing around to find out if the app dates are still correct and you will still get collections as per the schedule. Result: Yes the app dates still stand, collection as usual, depot computer schedule shows collection dates are ok. LCC Refuse Dept have no idea why extra collection was made. I'm not complaining, the bin was full and will be again by next week 🌻🌼🌻🌼

Why have my reminder texts been at 8am on collection day this week instead of the night before?

Great app. Automatically puts dates into your diary and sets reminders to put your bins out!

Update needed for Pudsey recycle points as White Cross Inn no longer exists!

You need to update your recycling points, Middleton Arms public house hasn't been there for years. It is a Aldi store now.

Like the app, found it advertised on an LCC recycling leaflet. One comment though, the map shows recycling points but doesn't say what can be recycled.

Our brown bin schedule is not listed. Still not added.
